Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate, evidence-based approach to therapy that views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own role and perspective. At the core of IFS is the belief that everyone has a true Self—calm, confident, and capable of healing. IFS helps you access this Self to lead your internal system, bringing balance, understanding, and peace to all parts of you.

IFS therapy can help with a wide range of personal and relational challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, depression, and trauma

  • Shame, self-criticism, and perfectionism

  • Relationship difficulties and communication struggles

  • Grief and loss

  • Emotional numbness or overwhelm

  • Navigating life transitions and identity exploration

In IFS therapy, you’ll work with your therapist to gently explore your internal world. You’ll get to know the parts of yourself that may feel anxious, protective, or stuck while learning to approach them with curiosity rather than judgment. Sessions are collaborative, paced according to your comfort, and often include mindfulness techniques to help you connect with your Self.
